Experience:

Frank Lee possess more than 28 years of broad experience in semiconductor product engineering, process development,  research and project management at companies such as Motorola, Conexant, TRW and Jazz semiconductors.

Prior to joining CNSE at UC Riverside Frank conducted research on self-diffusion of silicon and carbon isotopes in boron doped SiC., Frank has designed and fabricated 100x100 Field emitter arrays, Developed RIE etch, Low work function material, Thin-film resistor deposition, Coat and develop, Defect reduction and yield enhancement, Wafer cleaning, Characterization and poly silicon etching processes. Supervised cleanroom construction, tool selection and hookup, managed processing teams at two university labs.  Developed and integrated all processing steps to manufacture individual addressable pixel array of green GaN LED’s for DARPA project.   Developed reliability testing and failure analysis plans

Frank’s expertise in Semiconductor processing, Device fabrication and Tool operation provides a strong background to assist UCR students with their research projects inside the CNSE cleanrooms and keep the processing tools available for use.

Research Interests:

Process development, characterization and statistical control.
